well, it ruins the SCS. the threads dig into the SCS because it's aluminum. so if he does, he will be a retard in my book.

You can but you will have no compression system, therefore a wobbly headset. I ran no compression for a while now I have a noisy headset.

i am doin that because the bike shop put my starnut to far down into the fork for the bolt to reach. what should i do because i dont want to ruin my scs

Simply get a longer bolt.

To benny, get a regular bolt for one of the inverted compressions and just cut it down. itll only work if its a fully threaded rod though.

it isn't necessarily pointless if you have bars without a slit you want to use but no threadless fork and headset set up, just use a pop can shim
