i think you can use a piece of oversized tubing.
so whatever the dimensions of oversized bars are i go to like home depot and get tubing and just cut a line through it? can anybody give me further instructions on how to do it?

Doubt you'll find the correct size tubing at Home Depot and the Tubing at Home depot is not the correct material anyway- it has a seam on the inside of the tubing because it is actually a flat pice of metal rolled into a Tube and then welded, the outside seam is then ground off.

If you do use a piece of ERW Tubing then just cut the slit at the welded seam.

I noticed you are in Toronto, look up Metal Supply places and try there. If they are cool they might sell you just a short piece of 4130 or even aluminum tubing.
