When I didn't tighten them enough they slid up and made the top of the fork tube kinda ovaled but it didn't break them. Just reinforce them.

That tells you right there. You can't judge for everyone considering you have a reinforced fork.

I have a set, haven't had any problems as of yet. But I will be reinforcing my next fork if it does indeed snap on me.

the only prob we had when we tested what that if you tighten too much the clamp pushes in on the sides of the slot. so since the steer tube on forks is paper thin it can ovalize. this only happend once to cary. but has also happend to him with normal bars too. i think its easier with rad bars cause the chromoly is harder then the aluminum. please let me know about any problems. because we are already changing the design to make them better. and hopefully soon they will be on Kc's site. so far the top bar will be thicker wall tubing and now that im hearing about smashing forks maybe we will try different ways of sloting the clamp area.

the first fork that anything happened to was reinforced..and the part where the wheel is bent sideways, nothing to do with the bars anyways, but last night my headset locked up, so i pulled the bars forward and up and they slid off a bit, so i pulled them the rest of the way off and it bent the threads in on one part, so it was like impossible to get the nuts off the threads, it wasnt ovalized but like this little notch where the threads bent in like 2 mm

find a wooden dowel like a mm too big, sand it down until it sort of fits, then hammer it in, or some people i guess what put t tube pieces in their forks or something idk

yea, just make sure its in there good. because if its not it will fall out and hit your front wheel, and that wouldnt be good.

i said it before but we rad kids got some heavy duty tubeing welded inside the steertube. so we dont snap steertubes anymore :)
