sorry if there is a thread on this but i am wondering when you are filming do you actually look
at the person or into the camera's view ? it came to my head really random so i wanted to ask you all

um you either film view finder or lcd(the fold-out screen). most of the time i film with the lcd. if you film while looking at the person and just pointing the camera in their direction, then you're gonna totally miss them.

I got myself banned.
If im using a little compact cam, i use the LCD. If im using my DVX, i use the viewfinder. If your using a big cam like mine its weird to use the LCD, it might be alright for fisheye though, though most people just point the camera at the person when their filming fish and don't look at the screen.

when filming a line with a vx1k, use a fisheye and look at the person. anything else, use the viewfinder, unless you have a lot of battery left or your indoors so theres no bad glare

Haha what does a vx1 have to do with point and look? And you should use the viewfinder all the time, unless you have one where you can't move it up and down or if the cams on a tripod. Its more steady.
