the ultra pro is so small it might as well be fore little kids.

razor is still retarded
their marketing is dick.
i think the only thing that keeps them alive are 7 year olds and us.

for the amount of scooters broken by this community i would be surprised if we didnt take up a large portion of their sales.

what can you even do in a scooter that a seven year old can't?

sorry to call you out like this, but you always say stuff like this yet, are you even any good on a scooter? the only good thing with you that i can see if that you're not 7

EDIT: from what i hear, pretty much all you can do is tailwhip, yet you have an amazing set-up, you're EXACTLY like a seven year old

Haha, we take up about 1/32 of Razors scooter sales. AW's and Spark scooters sell much more than any Pro or Ultra Pro. You have to keep in mind, this was a toy before we touched them. And that it's still viewed as one to the majority of the public.
What sucks is that picture is of me, and it's a terrible one, haha.

EDIT: Besides, it's in a kids magazine. So of course it will be advertised to kids. It's not going to be a hardcore Piss Drunk Skater style advertisement just because the majority of serious riders are teens and older. Razor would have to be stupid to put a teen-adult ad in a kids magazine. It's be a waste of money. So who cares. This ad may be retarded as --------------- but it's still putting the idea of our sport out there more than any other company. I see it as a good thing. A kid checked out the add, goes outside and learns the trick, goes online and Googles a scooter forum or companies and BAM! SR and a bunch of other sites pop up. There's a new kid to expand the sport. Look at dumb stuff on the brighter side. Not everything is going to be raw, that's marketting.

1/32? wow, that seems really low, i never knew it was like that!

but what i mean is its obviously a dumb idea to put a teen ad in a kids meg, but razor CHOSE to advertise the ultra pro "freestyle" scooter to kids instead of teens

i think it's a better to advertise to teenagers because by doing that, you are also attracting younger kids aswell, since a childs perception of "coolness" is usually what the older kids find "cool"...well i say "cool", but its about fun aswell! :)

by is that a picture from the photoshoot you did with the prototype ultra pro model???

EDIT:

trick number 1, saw it in the shops this morning

I'm not even over exadurating. Scooters aren't exactly a big money maker for Razor anymore. The biggest scooter company isn't very focused on the sport. Now that there is so many bad knock offs, it cut into their sales big time. Because people don't know the difference between a Razor and some random China company trying to make a cheap product and charge full price. But a handful of people that work at Razor want to take it to a totally different level when it comes to parts. Trying to touch a completely different sense of quality. No precut cnc decks with tubes welded on like the Ultra Pro.
But what's cool is that some of the in house guys at Razor want to create some legit parts in small batches to sell on the Razor site. I'm hoping they might setup a seperate shop for the core scene though. They will be getting into everything. Decks, bars, forks, etc. At the moment I'm designing a deck, as well as another rider on the team. But I'm not going to name names yet, to avoid some drama, haha. Expect legit things though, our fabricators are some of the best frame designers in BMX. So they know their stuff.
Hell, I bent my first Ultra Pro the other day. I haven't bent a deck in forever. So I'm looking forward to getting on a legit one piece deck, set to what I think is perfect specs.

It's been years in the making. We've been trying to push the company into doing something along those lines since basically a year before the Pro Model came out. But now that the in house guys see there are contests everywhere, and almost everytime you go to a skatepark you see at least one scooter rider there, they got stoked on it. Wanted to get more involved with stepping up the design on a lot of the supposed "top of the line" products. Since they have seen so much in BMX, and see how behind some companies are, they kind of laughed at a few companies parts, haha.
I'm really stoked on it though. For sure right now there are two custom decks in the works. I guess technically they could be called "limited edition signature" decks. As far as I know, first batch is 50 units per design, so 100 altogether. But they are saving the jig for team riders. So chances are they will make more for sale to the public a bit down the line. But you can look forward to bars and forks also. I even have a peg design that Sammy Hetherington and myself came up with. I always hated how pegs vibrate loose after awhile. We figured out a way to fix that.

Now while I still think Razor is trying a bit too hard, they are moving in a good direction and everything that Josh is doing sounds awesome. :D

haha that kid must be a midget!!
but man i wish i was good enough to do a "razor flourish" as shown in the last step!!

I hope Razor desides to make the right desicions as far as with what Josh Toy is trying to empose to them. I always thought that they were the company about the Younger Generation that just goes with the flow, but Josh is like our SR JUST for Razor. He just made me change my dead-set mind about Razor around. Thanks Josh. I hope they Come out with all this Stuff in "The Works" section of their Filintg Cambnets.

What I htought about this Ad,
I understand that it was meant to get the younger generation into our Sport and make it look "rad" and "cool", But man I thought this was Stupid. I also notcied that the Folding Mech. area is Square unlike the new Ultra Pro. But overall, I atleast think Razor is TRYING to help our Sport progress.

Haha, no dice. You'll know soon enough. Stan got the boot at Cooter Con. He's got some stuff going on right now with an undisclosed company. Ali gave him some choices. It had nothing to do with his wacky antics or smoking habits, haha. And it was obvious what he wanted to do. Either way, we are all still chill, and nothing turned personal. It was a mutual decision. But the team wishes him the best. He's still a homie in our eyes, haha.

as long as it isn't Dakota...

Haha, no way. He is doing his own thing, or his father is doing his thing, rather. Dakota hasn't gone to a contest in forever, he won one contest, where only a couple of the typical podiuming pro's went to. So his site saying he beat out all the pro's, nonsense, haha.

Either way, you guys will enjoy who designed the deck. Enough said, haha.

no offense to doggscooters or whoever. But this Ad is why scooters are still "gay" Super F.ucking gay. this is the gayest thing ever. sooooo stupid. come on. you think that anyone will look at scootering as a legit sport if they were to see a comic of "trick tips" sooooooo lame! can anyone find me a radical super cool comic with trick tips for bmx or skateing or even wakeboarding or snowboarding? no. that's because they're legit, and scootering isn't legit because we have gay s.hit like this preventing us from moving forward. holy christ i'm so pissed off because of this little thread. I don't understand why people are so retarded. SOOOOOOO LAAAAAMMMMMEEEEEE! It's like the people that created that comic made it so lame on purpose. so cheesy, so immature, so un-legit. My name is Eric Ostrom, I ride scooters professionally, and yet I laugh at this. I'm laughing at my own sport..... this ad was a big turn off. I'm 21 years old. when I tell people I ride scooters I want them to think of some legit badass culture sport, and not think of some 8 year old uncordinated kid reading comics about how to do a god damned no footer. WTF!? FML scootering isn't what it used to be..... and I mean that in a bad way. Ya we have amazing parts and scooters to ride now. But the culture is just F.UCKED! GROW THE F.UCK UP, GROW SOME BALLS, and STFU.
