Real Street Scooter Comp

Who thinks we should organize a scooter competition like the x games real street ?
A bunch of well known street riders would film a minuet part and people would vote to see who won. I think it would be sooo sick to have a contest/competiton like this in our sport. Lets hear your opinion....

Interesting idea. I would imagine you'd need some prize money or something though if you really wanted to get it rolling.

Yeah , i don't know what the prize would be but we would need to find some solid sponsors to sponsor it , so the winner could get a solid prize.
In the real street skateboarding the prize is $50,000. But obviously our sport is not that big and we would not have a prize that big but it would be nice to get a solid amount of money for the winner.

people film their roughly 1 minute videos and send them into the organising company. Were not talking about a street competition

Not enough people even film real street videos for this to be possible. About 5 percent or less scooter videos are filmed and edited well and about 2% of those might be street. Theres no way we are nearly here yet. Scooters dont even have real filmers.

To be honest I could see it happening. People could definitely film 1 minute long parts if they had like 3 months to do it and even if it wasn't edited well it wouldn't matter, everyone would still like it.

I think the 20 people that got selected to be in the contest would be able to film a solid 1 min edit , its not that hard

It would work. I can see at least twenty people putting together enough clips. It doesn't even matter if it's well edited, it just has to be simple and filled with hammers.

they had a flat jam at ecx about a month ago that was really cool. it had a flat rail and a little box, everything else was flat. "ECX" format like SKATE, PIG, etc.

I think starting out though just make it open to anybody and have am/pro like normal comps. eventually as you can make it more exclusive and have more prize money narrow it down

What should happen is that there is a small/medium committee of pros judge, who are relatively impartial and not participating. (Could be Steven T, Josh Toy, Madis, Billie, JD [who usually judges the jams], Hep, Ostrom, etc.)
