His music is good, but people always are so quick to associate himself with "Express Yourself" and not any of his other good stuff.

I was going to talk about Death Grips, but I have no clue if they're trap or what trap even is.

It has influences from hip hop but its electronic music. They sometime use samples from rap songs to add the urban feel. I like some trap and i have alot on my ipod but alot of trap sucks so its hard to find good tracks. Everyone will soon hop on the bandwagon.

Nope, Trap as Anthony said started out as drug dealing hip hop music. The term has since progressed to cover most hard, hood hip-hop (note this is not specifically gangsta rap) (an example: Waka Flocka - Hard in the paint). The production style made popular by Lex Luger has since had an influence on producers such as rustie, joker, lunice, hudson mohawke as an electronic style (see rustie - city star). It's all considered trap now but you still gotta know where it started

Dude waka flocka is NOT trap music. Waka is mainstream as hell, I like waka but he is not trap. And lex lurger wasnt even around when trap music was first coming around. Go listen to your lil b. You know nothing.

I never said Lex was around at the beginning, I mentioned him because his production style has had the most influence on current producers. Also how does being mainstream have anything to do with it, popularity has nothing to do with genre or style.

if its played on the radio, It sure as hell isnt trap music. Trap wouldn't even come close to being allowed on the radio.

he's referring to TRAP STYLE being the genre, it's like electronic music with hard rap beats. It doesn't matter how mainstream the artist is, it's not even rappers specifically, moreso djs. btw juicy is not hood, he's 43 and lives in college park, MD

I love dat nigga, but he ain't hood
