Rust

hey guys I have some vultures and as soon as I got em i put primer 2 coats of color and a clear coat on it... I now have stripped it raw... and its only been about a week and see signs of rust... how do I prevent this... or stop it? because I want to keep my bars raw...

sand it first to remove all of the rust then clear coat it. The clear coat will work for a bit but it'll eventually start to rust again.

Sand more then. To make it look nice start with a semi-rough grit sandpaper. Then move up to a finer grit and then use scotch brite to finish up. Get a clean dry rag to wipe off the loose rust left behind. Remember to only sand ONE WAY if you dont want it to look like shit and try not to touch it too much with your hands. Latex gloves work well to prevent the oils from your hands getting on the raw metal. Then clear coat it 2 or 3 times let dry and you should be good for a while.

Clear coat won't do its job for long. I clear coated my raw bars and the bars started rusting again in less than a month

Just raw them really well, then put on some gloves and paint or spray them with a coat of clearcoat. let em dry and repeat for like 3 layers or so. that will stop it for a while.
