Saving Money

How many of you save your money instead of spend it on things you don't necessarily need?

I have had a pretty bad habit of spending money on kinda pointless shit recently. Going to stop

I save money when necessary. If I'm not saving for something in particular, I don't save. There's no point in hording money without a goal.

Yeah but its always good to have a couple grand in the bank in case of an accident or something comes up and you need money. Im just going to start saving for an apartment.

all about finding the sweet spot, figure how much money you bring in and understand how much you can waste. I didn't used to ever buy stuff, but I also didn't have an income. But I make about 600 a month in high school, so I blow money on taking my girl out to dinner and shitty food and stuff now. Fuck stingy bastards. I have a friend with thousands of dollars in his bank that isn't saved for any particular reason, and he refuses to ever spend money to the point he'll inconvenience his life to make a couple bucks. For example, say we go on a trip with our school band and we won't get home till 2. We'll all be given 10 dollars, but he'll go hungry all day just so he can pocket 10 dollars, to add to the thousands he's not going to spend, just so he can have it. There are the extremes, find the happy medium.

My cycle went
Work
Save money
Buy something cool
Then it went
Work
Buy weed
Now it goes
Work
Buy tins
Buy food

Or that's being smart and planning for the future? I don't know how old you are but the older you get the more money you need to spend on things. I was the same way when I was younger and I now have a lot saved up, and I'm glad I did. He's obviously not keeping it "just so he can have it".

But yeah, I used to be very good at saving, but recently not so much. I've been spending tons on food/gas/girlfriend/clothing/ recently and its getting bad haha.

I am saving for a computer ATM. I always try to keep some money stored away just incase. It is hard though when you get about $45 a week :( But over time it does build up. I have a spare change tin where I put all my spare change in so eventually over time I will get some money out of that.

I don't have to pay for fuel ATM but once I get my Ps, it's gonna be the biggest pain the arse to afford to travel places.

My dad won't let me have a job so I keep my stash healthy.
If it drops below 100 I get nervous.
It's emergency money, but for what I have no idea.

saving is a good thing and i can't understand why kids these days feel a need to spend all the money they get.

i try not to buy petty things, mostly spend on gas and food.

the older you get the more you need to save (and the more you can potentially make at work too).

It isn't a bad idea to save money though; you will be able to use it the future for something that comes up in the future. Just don't be so stingy to the point where it makes you miserable.

I bought a house, ring for my wife, paid my way through college, etc. and you can't save for those things overnight.
