scooter growth in your town

Over the past 3years I have seen a crazy amount of kids take to the scooter it makes me happy to see new styles born. 2008 when I started to scooter I would go to a skate park and get hated on, I would be the only scooter there it kinda sucked lol but now every skate park I see has at least 3 or more scooters. It just warms my heart to see the young ones ride =)

i know exactly what you mean!!!!

last year there were literally only 3 scooter riders in my town of Lakeside. now at least once or twice a week i see a gang of kids shredding a ledge or at a church.

also at Clairemont (SD comps) scooters easily out number the skaters and bikers. but they are all mostly little kids who snake

I'm glad the community is growing, but we will always have the kids who don't ride. They buy parts and stand there with their 400 dollar scooter. Don't get me wrong you have it in every other sport, but it's far more annoying when its a scooter IMO. Never mind all the little kid snakes that book it infont of you to hit the fun box first...

I have the occasional groups of kids who just sit at the park with their 400-500 dollar scooters around 2 or 3 of them but then I got a bunch of younger kids that are shredding ultra pros with metal cores in my town that are progressing very fast. Makes me scared for my own good:)

Stay ahead of the game learn new tricks dont let the little ones catch up lol or at least try.

In dec. Ive found 5 kids that rode scooters in my town, so im now not the only one that rides. And my local skateshop/park is thinking about selling scooter parts so that'll help the sport expand over here

I was the starting point of serious scooter riding in my town. Other kids had scooters but they just rode them along side BMX or whatever. Eventually kids began to appreciate the tricks I was doing, and soon enough a small group was born.

In Nov 2010 we got a new skatepark built, and that's where it all took off. You're lucky to see 1 BMX rider at our park nowadays, with 10 kids on scooters there at any time. That being said, good riding is becoming scarce.

Everyone is working on 'hard' flyout tricks or air tricks, it's all about what you can use in games of SCOOT. Barely anybody works on doing tricks with style or cleanliness in mind. A handful of riders have noticed this though, and are each working on doing things their OWN way. I teamed up with them to form The Jilbi Mob. Each member has a unique style and are clear standouts against the other riders of the park. I don't tell them how to ride or what tricks they should do, but we all help eachother and progress together.

i live in south bend and its been around forever man, like in 2007-2008 there was a crew of kids on decked out razor pros that would shred the park, so i started riding because i sucked at skateboarding, so now ive been riding for like 3-4 years, and i can like only tailwhip :p

ohhh and i just posted my 402 post, missed 400 but whatevs, this counts :p

started in 09 as the only one and like a lot of kids on here took shit for a year. during that year i opened it up to kids near me and they started too. now its like theres a big scene of posers and flyout whores but that was the way i started out. so later on there going to get to the stages of finding their style and perfecting it. Overall i think its pretty sweet

Yeah, this is an amazing feeling, I started up riding back in '07 with one friend, we slowly got a few people to start riding, and through out the years it kept progressing and more people started to ride. Now we can't go to our local parks without seeing atleast 3 kids shredding, it's a great feeling
