i just dont get why people only like riding park or street. the worse are the street riders who think they are better than everyone else for only riding street and no park at all. just a suggestion, ride both and quit your bitchin.

i some what agree i mean unorginized sports woulnt be fun if you dont get to ride what you want. i mean a ton of us skate/BMX/scooter because we dont like the team thing or whatever. action sports are your own thing you decide what your styles gonna look like. me? personly i don't like park I would rather ride street but i ohters like park scootering is your thing not any one esles. i mean were always saying we need more original riders well this wont help. telling people to ride a certain way will not create original riders. riders riding what they what will create oringinal riding

This is 100% true. I watched the dew tour bmx the other day and just shut it off because it was so pathetic. Gary Young killed it harder than any body because he actually flowed and had originiality but i guess they just wanna see flashy dumb tricks.

To be honest Scooters are still small and still a joke compared to other action sports. What park video has impressed people the way Mckeens TPC part did? That was all over TCU and alotta other sites. Im tired of day videos and worlds firsts.

People need to chill on where the sport is going. Seems there's a conversation every other day on how stressed kids are about where the sport is headed, how it is like or not like skateboarding or BMX, how they don't get respect or how they give out respect.

And if I hear one more comment about how "street riding is more legit"...ugh. Really? Street riding doesn't make you more BA or OG just because it has the word "street" in it. Ride the terrain you like and make vids of what you like to ride. Ride hard, push to be better and have fun without messing with other peeps fun and that's the best way to earn others respect.

My $0.02 for the day.

I think Brendon Smiths Blunt Web Edit made most people shit they're pants whether they ride scooters or not. Way more than Matt Mckeens video did to be honest. I really like Matt Mckeen though, just sayin.

Okay, I only read a few comments in here and i felt the complete need to post. i absolutely HATE when people say "ride street", "ride park", like really just ride what you feel most comfortable with, i ride both street and park, and i like them the same. Honestly great street amazes me and same with great park riding. But actually i see this in two ways, look at Red Bull for example, they build they're riders pipes, they do absolutely EVERYTHING for their riders, wouldn't we want that? But i do agree that Dew Tour would be better than the X-games for scooters because there is much more involvement with action sports that the announcers and everyone has, like i was watching the dew tour the other day and they knew exactly ever trick the riders were pulling, and those comps really interest people. I think it would be a great thing for scooters to get in the Dew Tour.

I think street riding is more legit because it's so much harder. Mostly anyone who is a decent scooter rider could film a decent edit at a park in a day. But a decent street video would at BEST take a week.
It's the fact that you're being creative with what's around you... park elements are built specifically for tricks to be done on them, they make it as easy as possible. But in the streets, if you find a slant, chances are it's sketchy, bumpy, rocky, and the trick is 5x harder than it would be if you did it at a park slant. That's why I think street is cooler than park, and the reason why I like to ride street more.

On the point of rider owned companies... I'm going to bring up Torn because I have knowledge about my own company, not others. The recent sponsorship contest I had was essentially to help the sport grow. Helping unsponsored amateur riders progress and ride for a team is what it's all about. Companies that are just in it for the money don't care about this at all, they're only in it to make their pocket bigger.
Just so you know, I don't even pay myself for the work I do for Torn, all of the money that I make goes right back in to prototyping for new parts, and my team.

Dude, that's so great that you don't pay yourself and just focus on new parts and the riders. but soon if you get more business u'll have alot of extra money, ahah

Did brendon smith's edit get any coverage on bmx or skateboarding websites? Nope. Did Matt Mckeen's tpc video get it? Yes.

Eventually I'll probably pay myself some for all the work I do... but a lot of the money is going to go to flying my team riders to competitions and making completes, ect... it will be a long time from now when I run out of things to spend money on.
