SCS Problem

I got my SCS in the mail yesterday, got the starnut installed today, went to take it home, had a HARD time putting it on my fork but a rubber mallet and 5 minutes did the job. then once i tried putting the bars on i realized that the SCS was rubbing up against the headset dust cover. and i cannot take the SCS off because it is wayyy to tight around the fork. (im using a proto striker 110mm threadless fork if that helps)
i tried pulling the SCS off but it wont even bugde.
please comment and help me.

Make sure all the bolts are loosened up on the SCS (even the top two). To get the SCS off, take your front wheel off and put a t-tube in there and you'll be able to twist it off. If that doesn't work, put a flat head in the slit and pry it open a bit. Then if you put a headset spacer between the headset and the SCS it should be all good in the hood.

or you can put the bottom screw in backwards and put a coin in the slit then tighten only the bottom one and it stretches it open so you can easily slide it on/off. had to do that with my inward before it broke.

i took all the bolts off and it still isnt budging.. and if you put a t-tube in the fork wouldnt it just push the starnut up?

happened to me too. SO THIS IS WHAT U DO!

u take all the bolts out, get WD40 and spray the fucccck out of the fork and then u put a screw driver through the whole were the axles normally go, then u stand on the edge of the screwdriver that is sticking out of the fork, then grab onto ur scs and pull like a mofo, it will come off.

then next time u put the scs on the fork first put grease all over your fork so it will be easier to remove the scs next time.

yeah, i did the coin trick.. but the bars dont spin because the SCS clamp is rubbing up against my dustcover and i dont know how to make it spin and have no wobble.

I didn't mean up the fork, I meant like horizontal between the legs, so you can twist it.
