hey i know that if i get a scs i will have to get a sealed threadless aftermarket headset but i was wondering if i would be able to use it with my threaded fork. i am pretty shure that i can since i dont see any reason that it wouldnt work but i just wanted to check and make shure before making the purchase. btw i did use the search but i wasnt able to find anything on this subject.

u r fucking retarded

U DONT NEED SCS WITH A THREADED FORK

no i am sorry but i think that you are the retarded one...

obviously i could just run a threaded compression system if i wanted to however i dont because it is awful and the scs is a far superior design.

now if someone could just answer my question...

there would be no point. it would be better just to put the nut on tht comes with the stock headset

i was having a lot of problems with the nut coming loose while riding and out of frustration i ended up stripping the threads on my fork so that isnt really an option.

this is the result of a spoiled rotten child

could you please explain how i am either spoiled or rotten? if i was then i would just go and buy an expensive threadless fork that i probably dont even need since my ultra pro fork works just fine aside from the threads being stripped...

how? shure there might be thread marks left in side it from clamping it onto the steerertube but i certazinly dont see how that could ruin it...

After time it will cause enough wear on it that the inner diametre would get bigger ruining it and making it looser.
And its overall pointless.
But u can use a threadless headset on a threaded fork, its a good idea if your fed up with stock headsets.

guys dont be mean to the kid. TUC with SCS its for threadless forks. so if you have threaded it wouldnt make any difference and its probably a waste of money on your part. if you want a cool looking clamp or something you can get them on www.inward-scooters.com or even on here with the proto half knuckle. but scs has no point with threaded forks. if you want SCS buy a whole threadless setup its pricy but worth it. i ride threaded dsa forks with a stock clamp and everything and im very happy with the performance. hope i helped you out man. :)

that is what i has been doing until i accidentally stipped the threads on my fork. i can sort of see what you are saying but even if the inner diameter of the scs did get a big bigger could i just not do the clamp up a bit tighter to keep it from coming loose? anyhow thanks for atleast posting something useful unlike everyone else so far.

i am aware that scs is for threadless forks and i am willing to buy one if i need to but i would rather save my money if my ultra pro fork would fork. i dont want it just for the style or whatever it is because it is a far better and reliable compression system then a threaded one. thanks for trying to help though.

You can not do this, so don't waste your money. I'm good friends with Andrew (he makes the SCS) and he said himself that it doesn't work, so that alone should tell you that it won't be a good thing. Also, when a fork is threaded the OD is slightly smaller, and the SCS is made to fit with very tight tolerances, so any change in bar/fork size will mess it up. In layman's terms, don't.
