So Cannon has a problem with their cameras when you use a lense thats a brand other then Cannon, you'll recieve a message saying error 99 and wont be able to take any pictures. Something happens to the contacts when you use any other brand.
So if you cant send it out to get fixed, here is a few short term solutions. First you could scrub the contact lense with a pencil eraser. Ive seen it work a couble of times at the studio I work at, but I didnt feel comfortable doing it. The next solution is very simple and will always work. When your screwing on your lense, dont scew it on all the way. Stop right before the lense connects, and your camera should work no matter what. The down side to this is when your changing your focus or zoom, you might accedently unscew your lense back into the contacts and make error 99 come back, or the other way around and drop it on the ground.
If you plan on buying a Cannon 10D or something, try not to use a different brand lense or this may happen. I was using a macro lense at work and it happened to almost every Cannon camera I used it with. If anyone esle has any solutions, post them and I can put them up here.
