drill a hole about 1.5-2 inches up from the top of your bars and use a hacksaw to cut up to the hole you drilled. the hole is called a drill stop, it prevents the slit from getting longer and cracking your bars.

its only been a thread like 24523452 time last time i checked, i dont know how you cant get a hacksaw and bars and figure it out. what could you get wrong, the angle of the slit?

yea the guys who actually answer are have good answers. just drill a small hole (little smaller that a pencil's diameter) about 1-1.5" from the bottom of the bars and put them in a vice. then just use a hack saw or w/e and cut up to there as straight as you can.
