so im looking for a nice SLR camera that fits my needs.
i am new to slr cameras and know a little but not enough to know what to look for.

im looking for a camera that can 1. have decent quality, 2. be able to have inerchangable
lenses such as fish eye and others 3. needs to use usb transfering. oh and has to be under 300$

ifound this one i liked. Is it decent for the price or should i get a different one?

for a point and shoot its decent..its not a SLR though. Also it doesnt have interchangable lenses.

my advice is to save up and get a better one like a Nikon (D50, D70s, D80, etc.), Canon (XTI, 20d, 30d, etc.) or Olympus (e-410, e-510).

or check out the Olympus SP-550 UZ..7.1 megapixel, 18x zoom and 15fps burst.

so yea If I were you I would just save up a bit longer.

i think im going with the nikon d50.
is this a good choice and i can't save up because
my mom is getting her taxes back and she says we are buying a camera
then and only then because we get a deal or somthing.

D50 is nice (dibbs has one), only thing is you wont be able to take very good sequence shots ( I cant even with my D70s) but yea, its a good camera, not too big either and nikon has a good selection of lenses.

dibble you said the olympus SP-550 has 15fps burst?

not dibble..Reeves..and yea 15fps..i wasent aware that it was at 1.2 mp tho..o well

and to answer your question Zak...im not 100% sure if it will work but im assuming it would, that is if you have lens that is 52-67mm..which im sure you would because most lenses are in that range..so yea..I think it should work, and if it dosent you could always send it back.

i got one question left and thank you guys for the help very apreciated.

is this lens usable with the d 50 or can i make it usable? i deffinitly want a wide angle or fish lens on it.

theres the lens i want. i that only for video cameras.

thanks

dude, thats a shitty snap on lens that is made pretty much just for video cameras. if you are getting an SLR i would not recommend putting a snap on fisheye on one, but thats just my opinion.

also, it doesnt sound like you really know much about cameras. id consider getting a beginner camera first before you jump right into SLRs when you really arent that sure what you are doing. the main thing with SLRs is control. you can control all aspects of the picture and do what you want, but when you dont even know what youre doing its not really worth it to spend that much, so you might want to rethink your decision.

i know, i thought the same thing i know what i want and it's deffinitly an slr.

hats why i asked you guys. im getting a camera since my moms getting a big ass check and

im not getting some small peice of shitt camera like hers. I just don'tknow about lens or lens's effects.

i know camera's and im new to buying slr camera etc. but i know camera's.

i was figring that lens wouldn't work sinc it said video camera i just asked.

what would you recomend for a fish eye? i saw someone i think it was dylan i might be wrong

but they had that lens on a slr camera. so i thought it might work, maybe not.
