Smart phones and tablets

anyone here keep up with phones? ever since the first galaxy s3 rumors started coming out i started getting really interested.

the s3 is getting announced tomorrow. the verizon version is going to have a dual core processor (snapdragon 4) because the quad core isnt compatible with the lte verizon uses, the rest will have a exynos quad core as far as the rumors go. its going to either have an 8 or 12mp camera, 720 30p super amoled hd display, 2250mah battery (which is huge) and it may have other crazy shit. like eye tracking, so you can click with a blink and browse with your eyes. that was a rumor a while ago but it hasnt been discredited so it may be true. and its going to be released in a week if the rumors are true.

edit: changing the tread up, since the line between smartphones and tablets is becoming increasingly blurred, i decided why not make this a tablet thread too. both have the same basic functionality.

smart phones are overrated, especially droids. they work fine for a month or so and then start getting all glitchy and slow and just get really fucking annoying. idk about the one your talking about though.

the older phones are like that, the newer smart phones coming out are insanely good.

i had an older droid and hated it, but even the newer evos and the newer galaxy s2s are pretty reliable. the next generation in quad core smart phones is going to be insane. trust me on that lol.

actually dont take my word for it.

thats the euro one x that comes with a quad core tegra 3 chip, the american version of it has a dual core because of lte but im sure it's almost identical to someone who isnt looking for fine details.

and ryan, a good amount of smart phones are better than the iphone in every way aside the camera. so if iphones are ok then you pretty much think smartphones are ok lol.

Just got the "Samsung Stratosphere" yesterday and I love it! No freezing or glitching yet.(Hopefully never) The only con is that Temple Run fucking sucks on Android.

I will probably shit my pants if they actually come out with a phone that you can scroll with using your eyes. I have no idea how they can actually make phones have crazy technology like this, it's ridiculous.

this is why im becoming so obsessed with the phone market, its become a competition to see what companies can make a more advanced device with better breakthrough features, i love it. these phone companies are pushing progression farther than ive seen in any industry in such a small amount of time.

for everyone who thinks smartphones suck.

smart phone comparison 5 years ago to now. and regular ass phone comparison.

blackberry-curve-8320.gif

blackberry curve 8320

-312mhz intel processor
-64mb ram
-2mp camera with 240x180 recording
-320x240 display at 160ppi (which was really good back then)
-65k colors

htc-one-x-global.jpg

htc one x

-1.5ghz quad core processor
-1gb ram
-8mp camera with 1080p recording
-720x1280 screen at 312 ppi
-16 million colors
and to add to that
-gorilla glass
-3G web surfing full web
accelerometor, gyrometer, proximity sensor and compass

lg-a190.jpg

regular ass phone made by lg released last year
- 119ppi tft display
-"flashlight"
and that's the only specs that even matter on the phone. the processor and the stuff that actually make this thing perform are so weak that they havent been officially measured. theres no point since all that phone does is call people.
i like to have a phone that can be my computer away from my computer. which is what these new phones basically are.

smart phones are good for people who know how to take care of them. you need to delete the cache and history and all that stuff you do on your computer for it to work consistently.

What is "Gorilla Glass?" Sorry if that's a dumb question...

it's a really strong glass that's anti shatter anti crack and anti scratch, it's pretty impressive.

as for smart phones, i love all this new technology, it's amazing.

i get my upgrade in about a month might have to look in to that phone you were talking about at the to, seems amazing ;)

the s3 will probably be out the next day lol. it gets launched in 2 hours and apparently within a week it will be on the shelves.
the s2 is a really good phone though, either way you'll be happy.

i noticed something weird about the display on a leaked photo.

it looks like it may just be 3d.

i prefer an ipod touch and a phone. works just as good as any smartphone and is a lot cheaper.
until you go on a road trip or you're somewhere with no wifi and want to get on the internet. and lol? buying and ipod and a regular phone is more expensive. the s3 is going to be 200 with the upgrade.

the s3 is going to have a bunch of features to make phones more useful, like driving in a car you can just start talking to it and telling it what to do, it knows you're talking to it and does what you say. without touching it. the camera is 8mp but it's hdr. dual core in america because quad cores dont mix with 4g, or 4g lte.

that being said, i got the galaxy s2 instead of waiting another few months for the s3. rooted it and now im running ics on it. its fucking INSANELY good. anyone wanting to get a phone, get the s2 epic 4g touch (or skyrocket on at&t) and get ics on it.
