Some general questions

Hey guys, I am ofcourse new, and I have some scootering questions.

1. I know nothing about stances, I just put my feet together in the back, but in videos I see people with their left foot in the back and their right over the brake, how does that work? Wouldn't that push the brake down? I don't ride goofy.

2. I have a $20 A (new) model, I am planning to get a razor pro, I have a few questions about it.

a.I am going to bolt it, but even with the few guides I have read I don't know how. What parts do I need, specifically, and where do they go? I don't have old scooter parts from any scooter.

b.I have NEVER done anything relating to modding a scooter, is there anything else I should do? I am planning to replace the griptape with skateboard griptape when it wears off.

3.When I try to whip, I can never land on my deck. I don't know if I am whipping too slowly, not pulling my feet up enough, or something else. Also, I sometimes have a tendency to whip it outwards, how can I kick that habit? EDIT: By whipe outwards I mean; whip my deck slightly diagonally out away from my body.

4.When I 180 my left (back) foot ends up on the brake, thus stopping the scooter. Any thoughts? I might be landing on it, or sliding onto it as I land, I don't know.

5.And now the most important question of all. When I bunny hop, my wrists hurt. This is a recurring problem whenever I bunny hop, and doesn't go away for a while. What am I doing wrong, and how the hell do I correct this? I don't want wrist damage.

Thanks for the answers guys.

1. Sounds like you ride ski, you should probably learn how to ride either goofy or regular, cause it's a lot better than ski. When people ride with their foot over the brake they just put pressure on their toes, so their heel is hovering over the brake, just in case.

2a. Gut the foldy, then take your scooter to a hardware store and find the bolts that fit. It should be two 5/16" bolts and one 3/8" bolt, I think 2.5" long.

2b. Just ride it until parts break, then replace them. One step at a time.

3. Use your arms to spin the deck around, and practice. Practice will help you more than anything anyone will tell you.

4. With better griptape you shouldn't do this, and with a stance other than ski you should be able to get ride of the problem.

5. Just work on it, try to land smooth. Use your legs to absorb the impact.

Most importantly, search instead of making new threads.

when your bunnyhoping it would help to land with ur back wheel first to absorb the impact. if ur wrists still hurt after that u need to see a doctor

Thanks for the info, some of it was a big help.

1.when I bunnyhop, I think the problem isthat I pull up on my bars BEFoRE I pull my feet up, thus putting immense strain on my wrist. How can I correct this?

2.I don't know the "regular" stance, do you have any pictures or something?

Thanks for the help guys

1. learn how to rid regular it will get you more placs in scootering then ski will

2. get a razor ultra pro its way more legit and you dont have to bolt it

b.replace the grip right when you get it if its not gripy enough.

3.use your arms and try it off a small letge or ramp

4.better grip tape

5.do you have wrist problems? you might have your hands in a bad position

1. There are 3 stances [regular, goof, ski]. Basically just don't ride ski, which is both feet forward. For a few reasons. One is that you'll bang your needs up, two is you look like a dork, three is that it is more difficult to spin.

2. If your new you shouldn't have to modify a pro model for a while. It will last you a long time.

3. The tailwhip is almost ALL wrist. Start trying to use more wrist and less feet. Practice just spinning your deck around [without jumping] this is the motion you need to get good at.

4. When you get a pro model this may go away. The decks are slightly longer, and the folding mechanism won't bow in so steeply.

5. I've never heard of "wrists" hurting? Check for arthritis or ask your doctor?

Practice Practice Practice.

guys question.
how many people ride a park goofy or regular?
everyone at my park seems to ride ski.

i don't think is hard to tell.
look at their feet when they are riding ski and it all depends on what foot is further forward.
for example if the right foot is further forward than the left one, than the person is goofy like me. lol
and im guessing that if the left foot is further forward than than the right one, the person would ride regular.
