Something wrong

There something wrong with my cam and i dont know what it is.

when i record and playback the picture is perfect but when i capture it, it is a blurry and fuzzy any help ?

It was never like this before maybe someone spilt something on it Idk.

Im also using USB

Edit #2 I got it fixed i think i spilt water on it and Travis House told me to open it when the tapes goes in and let it dry out and now it works

what type of camera, what software are you using, is it being compressed, etc...

sony handycam DCR-HC21 im just sing capture on premier and i dont think it is compressed...it was never like this before just started doing this recently

does it record to a hard drive?

hdds compress the format to mpeg4, which is bad, so it looks good on a small video camera screen, but not on a big tv or computer monitor

its save to tapes, mini DV, it never done this before i got other clips that are perfect but lately there all messed up whn the go on to my computer

Your using firewire right? Maybe your heads are dirty, get a headcleaner and give it a run, i can't really think of that the problem would be.

i am tomorrow or the next day but it never happened before..maybe i could of got water while it was in my bag but i dont know...thanks guys, i will post when i get firewire to see if that is the problem.

I have to use a firewire for the tapes...
I didnt know ytou could use usb for anything other than harddrive/memory card

my mini 1 and 2 was all uploaded with USB, but on youtube it fucks the quality worse. There is a noticeable difference between the 2 but its not like you HAVE to buy a firewire RIGHT NOW or else lol. I have sony DCR-HC21 too by the way, never had any problems with it just had to clean the heads once because i switched brands like 3 times in a day haha. but yeah its a good camera for lower end. try capturing to a different program too see if that fixes it.
