My computer lags really bad when i try and edit my footage in 720. I thought about just resetting my computer and just having sony 9 on it but then i realized that you cant get pro 9 anymore. What can i do to make it play normally when i am editing without it being laggy..Any suggestions?

end all the applications and processes that aren't necessary for the computer to run. thats all i can think of.

lol you dont delete anything. like go to processes in the task manager and end aim and the internet and msn and anything that you know you dont need for the computer to run. it will make editing alot faster because there aren't other programs running on the computer. like if you go on utorrent and download a torrent and click the speed graph, then click open aim or google chrome or any program, you can see the computer slow down a crap load.

Eww Sony Vegas... Adobe premiere and after effects are the way to go. I used vegas for like a year and i personally think it is good, but the setup and interface is just EWW.

And After Effects isn't for editing. It's only for like effects. You just use one video and add effects and shit.

Vegas lags a lot for HD video for me too. So does any program cause my computer can't handle HD.

You can still get vegas pro 9. Just don't download the trial for it from Sony. Download from a different host, like 9down/mediafire/etc.

Also, update your video card. Get more memory installed. External hard drive, put a lot of your less-used programs on one.

k so in vegas 9 when i render videos it has the black border around it and i clicked maintain aspect ratio off and im still having the same problem.
