Im not sure if i have posted this in the right place, please move if this is the case. 
I have a sony z1 video camera and a dte fs-4 pro hd drive and its driving me nuts trying to suss out how to set up tapeless recording. I can record direct to the hard drive providing there is a tape in the camera however i want to (and according to both manuals its possible although i seem to be doing something wrong) record direct to drive without it going through the tape.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
