sooo sad

I am seriously shocked. This is certainly a huge tragedy for not only him and the fmx community but possibly for all people involved in action sport. For years, the only serious action sport accidents happened to idiots, drunk people or so, people without skills but trying to impress others anyway. Now it's like a plague of serious injuries of people who were the greatest professionals of their sports. First the Stephen Murray near fatal accident, followed by Mike Aitken, then the recent Danny Way injury and now this. I believe that not only FMX will be seriously affected, and Im strongly fearing that the recent progress in action sport has led to some kind of a barrier, and that some things will change.

you cant really put a limit on extreme sports... the whole purpose of it is to push limits and boundaries. you can't really expect things like this to not happen... it comes with the dangers of being an extreme athlete. I mean yeah, of course its horrific & devastating when horrible injuries & fatalities happen.. but theres really nothing you can do to prevent them. sh!t goes wrong, and people get f*cked up. there's really nothing you can do :(

with the way things are going over at the x-games, with so much of the focus on the megaramp, i won't be surprised if theres more bad crashes/injuries.

i feel so bad for jeremy's family and all those fmx guys, such a terrible loss.

If there will be more fatal accidents, people will lose interest in these sports as they will be considered insane and cruel. The X games best trick contests have already become a freak show of random people doing weird tricks, neither we or the general audience (except for the wilder part) wants it to become a literally "do a triple backflip or die trying" show - we're not living in ancient Rome. Of course, people are free to do what they want and no one will ban jumping motorcycles but Im talking about the possible downfall of the action sport mainstream phenomenon.
