Since we only have like 3 mods left and none of them participated in voting, then I decided I'd make a thread here with a some sort of commentary with some of the cooler entries i found within December. Since I'm really hooked up with WEE / Rebel mailorder stuff and university studies, then I haven't had any time to visit the SR as often as i thought I would be doing. And because SOTM has been one of the few reasons i come here and because none of the remaining mods participated in voting for the scooter of the december, i find my work here is done, which is why i thought I'd make a longer SOTM thread with some extra comments on some entries before I resign. Also i'm making this thread partially because I have no legit knowledge how to use the new newspage system, shoot me.

I wanted to put the SOTM winner at the bottom as a conclusive ending, but usually people expect to see the winner at the top of the page where there's more attention.

The scooter of December belongs to Taylor Feist.

Bars: Rad Og Os
Grips: Black Animal Edwins
Compression: Rad HIC
Headset: Cane Creek S-1
Fork: SR Fork
Wheels: White Proto Grippers
Bearings: Rush
Deck: Tsi 5.0
Brake: Tsi Flex Fender
Clamp: Proto Half Knuck
This scooter seriously has the parts AND the looks to be a scooter of the month in my opinion. All the parts except Rush bearings (I haven't heard of them ever?) are highly rated and since the setup's front end is based on HIC system, it's also a kind of weight-wise at front, since HIC is lighter and easier than SCS. If that thing would have some black wheels and some normal axles instead of bolts, it would result as perfection. Despite, white wheels for this setup was a safe choice, any other color (like purple or pink) would feel gay.

Some other entries I thought i'd mention:

Deck: TSI Kukk Cruiser with 5.5 wide skatedeck
Bars: Buffs with Redline aluminum junior 4 inch rise bars
Wheels: 125 Hep Gregs dyed black
Fork: TSI 125 Thom Cat
Compression: Proto Brass Knuckle
Grips: Fly Reubens
Pegs: Homemade front, sockets in the back
Mario is one of few riders to use TSI's functionality when it comes to interchangable plates: appearantly he used a skateboard deck to put it on his 21.5" long TSI deck. I would even ride this 5.5" wide deck, because it seems to have enough clearance when it comes to leaning/turning since it has 125mm metalcores. Only a few riders have realized that the future of scooters consists of longer and wider decks and 125mm wheels and this scooter is a little sneak peak to the future.

You have too much griptape on that.

But seriously, I would have understand if it had a set of pins, but in this case it seems you could put just the same amount of griptape on the TSI frame directly and use it without the deck, haha. Other than that, awesome parts.

Aaron Ross grips
Bryce Bars 18 wide 20 high
Defiant clamp
FSA top headset cup
Inward threaded forks
Ultra Pro deck
Yak 110 fw
Proto bw
Stock Abec 7 bearings
Stock brake
Minus the mismatching wheels and fork color, the front end scheme is something I haven't seen before. Gives a kind of childish feel, in a good way. Who makes that? Does that scheme come stock from SkaterHQ, is it a wrap or is it something custom-made?

One thing I like about SOTM entry threads is finding custom made parts like that. Definetaly worth watching. It seems to have an old Micro headtube, which from my personal experience are made out of really soft aluminium, but because of its construction it's compatible with any plates you will make for your deck in order to put a headtube on it in case you don't have the resources to make your own headtubes. Anyways, awesome stuff. Note to owner: you do not need side-bolts in the middle of the deck. Less bolts = better.

Seriously one of the cleanest scooters I've ever seen. A hang-the-scooter-on-your-wall type scooter. Good choice of background for the picture has its own influence. The reason why I chose Taylors scooter was that originality wins over anything. The setup above this text can be built for $500 without putting any other effort than some money and some skills to put the parts together.

Like Alex Steadman said:
"Hell yeah Greg! No paint and you still got color coordination."
Actually the bars and forks are painted in gray, but Alex's comment was spot-on.

Seriously, mang, the handlebar scheme is so dialed. How?

Usually scooters in red tones remind me pro-models with their red&black griptape, but this white-gold-red scheme is realllllly cool. Props.

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed.

Justin, shut up, lol. This doesn't mean I quit visiting SR, but it means I'd rather give my position to someone else who has motivation to have a control over the community here without getting anything practical in return from this business-channel.

I visit the SR like twice a week (if that) since early 2009 and my moderator log is almost empty because of it. I'm useless as a moderator. In my opinion, the SR doesn't need a slacker on my position. Even Ben Grantham would be a better and more active moderator than me, honestly. I don't need your sympathy, I'm sorry if you guys didn't notice it all throughout the year.

Like half the posts were off topic so I can see where this is going, which is why i'm locking this.
