One thing a lot of riders don't realize, is that sponsorships aren't all about free products. A sponsor is like a new friend, and you have to be as loyal to it as possible. It's more about supporting the company than the company supporting you. You have to give to receive. On top of which it's not just pure skill that gets you sponsored. A lot of companies nowadays look for experience alongside riding skills, as well as your personality. One thing kids do very often is kiss ass, in hopes it will get their foot in the door. That will not get you anywhere, if anything you're just showing the company owner / team manager how annoying you can be by never having your own opinion.
That's why when a kid asks me to help them get sponsored. I ALWAYS tell them that sponsoring isn't like beating a video game, where you anxiously feel accomplished when you finally get a sponsorship. It actually adds a lot of responsibilities. So I also tell them to ride for fun and let the sponsors come to them. If they are good enough, they will come.
i understand what ur sayin 100% and i do ride for the fun of it
i just simply mad this thread tho kuz i was board and i just wanted to see if kids had a choice to be sponserd who would they pick but like i said u are right about what ur sayin .
