Spots/parks near Boston/East Coast?

Hey, all. I am very new to this forum, so forgive me if I am posting a thread that has already been asked somewhere else.

I am a rider originally from Phoenix, AZ, but I am going to school now out in Boston, and was looking for any spots or places to ride. Used to be a skateshop called "Underground" that had an indoor miniramp. Unfortunately with the hard times, they had to shut down last year, and I have been looking for a place to go ever since.

Also, I am always looking for people to ride with. I live in the backbay area of Boston, if you or any other riders you know are nearby, let me know.

underground was dope, there was supposed to be a big skate park plaza built in boston, idk what happened to it though

Hey, David. I went onto the Charles River Skatepark site, because I had forgotten about them until you brought it up again, and it looks like some not so great news. Here is the last paragraph from an update message.

"While we at the Conservancy, along with all our many donors and supporters, certainly hoped that construction would start this year, what we have found in our benchmarking study is that the average time for a skatepark to be built is 7 years. As you know, our skatepark project is a large and complicated one, but even so, we are within this range—and happy to have so many qualified team members moving the process forward."

I am probably not going to be in Boston after May of next year, let alone 7 years from now! And there were rumors that this park was going to be up last year. . .yeah, right. . .

im from ct, but i go to r.i. and mass alot to skate, the aquarium(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZfv0Yj_Y-I) has some ledges and stuff and in providence theres spots all around i dont know exactly where they are but boston and providence is loaded with fun stuff

I have a friend at school that is from Rhode Island, and he was talking to me about heading up to a place called Skaters edge. Have you been? Do you know if they let scooters in there?

You should hit me up if you are ever going to ride in Boston.
