SR Threadless fork with compression system

Forks are made threadless to reduce chances of it breaking at the threads. ( Just so you know )

Compression systems allows you to increase or decrease the pressure between your bars and your headset so that you headset can spin in whatever way you want it to.

Without the compression system , the pressure between the headset and bars are random( if you know what I mean heh ) . I'm not too sure if your bars will come loose. I think if you tighten the clamp tight enough , it will stay there.

This is all I know about compression system. I hope it is accurate and can help you. If you're buying a SR threadless fork , I suggest getting it with the compression system.

i ride my threadless fork without a compression system,
i use a 1 1/8'' clamp on my fork under the bars, to keep it tight

yea i ride without one.... AND IT --- SUCKS. but my 1 1/4 starnut is getting here this week so it's all good. but yea you don't want to, like deffinately don't. It can also --- up the top bearings in your headset cuz when it shakes it hits the bearings. Spend the extra 20 and get it.

well if you look under the threadless sr fork you will see a little hole that you stick the compression bolt though that is allen key, it should sit up above your fork about 30mm to 40mm. you will have a star nut that you push in to the bars with a tool of your choice. the compression bolt will screw into the star nut like a threaded for screws on to bars. to screw it on you need an allen key that the compression kit comes with to use to either stop the compression bolt from spinning while your trying to screw it on or to screw the bars on.

Lewis, imagine riding your scooter without the two nuts on the fork steer tube. That's what riding without a compression system would be.

hahaha i feel like an idiot. i rode my bars like that for like 2 days, had to tighten everything down like crazy every 5 minutes. i felt like a retard when i found out i forgot to put those nuts back on when i went back to threaded.

i just wondrin but duz the star piece go into the steerer tube and the bolt goes up through the forks in the star piece and so joins the sterer on to the forks?
