SR Threadless Forks

the_SD_local

I own SR.
I was going to quote a million different people but I'm not so just look for your answers:

1. They are made out of mild steel.
2. They do weigh more than stock forks but only by a few ounces and there is NO way around that if you want stronger forks.
3. You can use your stock axle (no spacers)
4. Pegs CAN be mounted but they have to be slightly modified, when the time comes for people to start putting them on I will explain more (I was also thinking about selling specially made pegs kits and/or a second version of the forks with solid pegs attached)
5. YES, they are strong. Why would I waste my time making something weaker?
6. Advantages of a threadless system:
- There is more surface contact area with the bars on the steerer tube because it doesn't have threads cut out of it which allows your bars to stay straighter, longer, with less clamps and pressure so basically you never have to worry about your bars moving.
- Since there are no threads cut out of the steerer tube you maintain the FULL strength of the tubing which means no more snapping your bars off.
- It is QUICK and EASY no more screwing nuts and bars on and off for an hour to change bars or forks or anything else (not that you will ever need to change your forks again).
7. If you are still complaining about weight seriously just man up. I haven't weighed them and I'm not going to. They will not effect your whips because they are not part of the deck and they will only increase your bar spins because the little extra wight adds momentum. Plus, it is a scooter that only weighs 2 pounds to begin with so stop crying.
8. They are VERY similar to the ones on my scooter on PAGE 9 of the "Your Scooter" thread.
9. Threadless headset means that the TOP cap of the headset just slides on instead of screwing down like a stock headset (which is called "threaded" for obvious reasons).
10. You can use ANY kind of bars you want on these.
11. You don't HAVE to have the compression system but I highly recommend it because without the threaded steerer tube there will be no way to adjust your headset anymore (since threadless headsets don't have a nut to tighten down). You would just have to lean on your bars to squeeze the headset together then tighten your clamp and even then you probably wouldn't get ALL the play out.
12. Threadless headsets can be found at ANY BMX shop or just about any BMX store online.
13. Threadless headsets replace your ENTIRE stock headset (cups, bearings, races and top caps).
14. There are no REAL good photos of the forks yet because I don't take a camera to the shop but on December 15th there will be pictures so if you like what you see order yourself a pair, if not then don't.

How the hell did you manage to make the bottom race area? The fact that the very bottom of the forktube is a tiny bit wider so the bottom bearing race can it on tight is the only thing that stopped me from having a custom fork made for myself.

When it comes to shipping, weigh matters if i'd like to see how much would it cost to ship a [insert-number-here] oz object.

http://www.danscomp.com/products.php?cat=PARTS&show=Headsets for example. Search for threadless (not threaded nor intergrated, if you wan't to use on a Razor neck).

Dibbs, pretty much all bmx headsets are threadless, except maybe some racing ones. So the FSA Pigs and all the aftermarket ones people use on here are threadless and therefore work.

im definately gonna buy the fork and the compression system but i have honostly never had a problem with snapping my fork but i have had to replace multiple "newer A forks" cuz i keep bending them"which means my wheel ends up getting crooked and not straight or lined up with my back wheel" and ive bent my pro-model fork so im pissed about that.

Andrew, are you saying that together the compression thing and the fork will be $30-40? Because that'd be gnar kill.

And Eric, yeah, I think it said that in the store a while back. (those prices)
