Starnut in Merrow Fork?

my friends gonna sell me his pretty much new merrow fork so yehhh

hes tried putting a normal or small sized starnut it but he's told me it wont fit, what starnut would fit for an SCS in the fork?

pls halp cause im getting his phoenix slim as well

Just put the ICS bolt in the way it is supposed to go.
Get a nut that fits the ICS bolt.
Put on the SCS, put the bolt in the fork, put on the top cap, then tighten the nut on the top cap. Simple as that.
Unless he already cut the top of the fork off, which is what it sounds like he did.
In which case you need a 7/8" starnut, which should fit just fine.

The fork didn't come with any ICS kit, the only ICS bolt I have is one of those really long ones which I don't think is any use, and he hasn't cut the top of the fork off so yeah

You can probably get a bolt and nut that'll work at a hardware store.

Type in htt on youtube and you can use the long bolt; or find a correct starnut

You can't use a long bolt with ethic forks. You can do the same thing with a short bolt though.

I did it, the 7/8 in. star nuts fit just fine, just cut the fork down to size and instal it.

Or you can do what I did and file down a 1 1/8 inch star nut to get it to fit.

Just get a short bolt and nut from the hardware store and do what I explained. There's no sense cutting the fork if you can just do that, especially if you might want to sell it to someone who wants ICS.

I used a normal sized starnut in mine. You just don't knowohow to put a starnut in maybe? You're not supposed to use them with SCS though thats why they sell them with the cap. It'll snap in like a month. I have had 2 ethic forks break in under a month and have had a lucky going strong for a while.

lol i know how to put a starnut in, my friend just said he has a normal fork sized one and says theres no way of fitting it.

i have like never snapped a fork in my life so im not really worried about that tbh.

woops, figured its actually a Legion fork not a Merrow lols

i guess i'll give ICS10 a try, mostly because i have no other option lol

what size is the bolt allen key? cant find anywhere that says so yeh
