It will fit, but I'd reccomend getting a smaller one for aluminum steertubes.
They have them in all bike shops.

when you say smaller, please specify a size

It's still 1 1/8", but it's meant for aluminum steertubes, they'll know what you're talking about.
I actually think they're the same size as 1" starnuts for steel steertubes, but they're also meant for 1 1/8' aluminum forks.

get a 7/8 star nut, i't will fit better but both will do the same thing

why can't you just use the one that comes with it?

I got a 1 inch one at my local bike shop and it works like a charm
