because we're overpopulated?
some of them are unwanted and would you want a kid being brought up by parents who dont want them?
and dont say "adoption" because theres many FULL adoption centers.
When it comes down to it, i'd prefer stem cells being harvested as opposed to just a full on termination where noone gets anything from it.

Modern medicine has progressed to the point where miscarriages are incredibly less common, along with birth defects that kill the child in months, maybe a year. Back a long time ago, people died more. Including babies. They died a lot. So for population control, it is important to limit the number of babies, in this case, abort the ones that come from stupid teenagers that have no clue how to raise a child, and broken families.
Sounds a bit morbid, but hey. If we lower the number of kids comign in to shitty families, we can lower the number coming out of them. Which means the overall IQ would raise, and we can progress faster.

Well when you put it that way....it does seem right. But now it comes down to our stupid generation of teenagers. Getting pregnant and then not wanting to face their actions. I still don't think any person has the right to take away a life. Anyways, derailing the thread here. This is about stem cells. It would be really awesome to see some of our modern diseases cured with something. That would be so cool!

that link is wrong, and you know why? because if they had half a brain they would have done research and found out it's impossible. why is it impossible? because after conception it takes the fastest pregnancy test 11 days to give a semi accurate reading (not completely accurate until a week or so later) and the cells have to be harvested within 3-5 days. so you're wrong. again.
they used to take older stem cells with limited use from fetuses that had already been aborted (putting them to good use) but now, 100% of stem cells come from the list i wrote. every last one of them.
you're against a life saving treatment that hurts no one. i hope you're happy with yourself. grub.
and on abortion, there should be restrictions that deny people the right to an abortion if they abuse it, but other than that not letting a women have the right to choose if they want to have a baby is absolutely unacceptable in my book. being against stem cell research is also unacceptable and makes you less of a person.

stem cell research is a branch of biochemistry im interested in getting in to, don't sit here trying to tell me that some conservative website (yes, that is a crazy conservative website that is against all the average stuff and very christian biased, as you can tell by the anti gay shit on the front page of it as well as articles discussing the afterlife fairytales) knows more about stem cell research than the legitimate biology websites i lurk through, and don't sit here telling me a life saving treatment is wrong. your morality is flawed, your logic is flawed, your links are nonsense and you made yourself look like a heartless dick. just stop before you make yourself look more heartless and ignorant than you already look.

I love how you just say my links are wrong because they are Christian and stuff (which I did not know haha.) but what about the footnotes they provided? They came from books stem cell researchers wrote.
The masturbation thing. It is wrong because it is a form of sexual immorality. Plain and simple. Once again, deal with it. And you are right, scientist want a better world and a world without disease and such but the way scientists go about it just seems so wrong, especially in embryonic stem cell research.

just making an observation.
First bold: Masturbation isn't "immoral". Animals do it. Humans are animals. Therefore it's natural. Just because some stupid book says "jerking off is a sin, but killing people for praying to other gods is alright" doesnt make it any more or less "immoral"
Second bold:
Well yeah, scientists use any means necessary to solve an issue. It seems to work better than putting your palms together and asking nothing to create something/solve your problems. Yeah, science can get a bit messy. Very messy. Look at the atomic bomb, sure nuclear physics can kill millions when applied in ways to do so, but it can also power millions of homes when applied differently.
Maybe if God/Allah/Vishnu/whatever stupid invisible creator people believe in didn't fuck up so much when they created everything,

The problem is that science isn't perfect yet so it's still messy and crude at times. But once we understand everything then things won't be so nasty anymore. If we have enough time to get to that point.
