ok so Im pretty sure you dont need a step up ring..because Dibbs has a kenko and I put his on my camera(same lens specs as yours) and it fit without the step up ring.

Really? That'd be pretty cool. By the way, my camera is a Sony Handycam DCR-TRV460 NTSC and I have no idea what any of those numbers/letters mean at all haha.
