Stock RUP fork on threadless headset HIC???help im a noob

I just got a RUP after being on a pro for about a year and a half, and i watch the forums from time to time. Well i remember seeing some scoot setup with the RUP stock threaded fork on a threadless headset and HIC. Does anyone know what im talking about or the setup im talking about? Is he running a shim? sorry im a noobz

if you sanded down the threads on the rup fork, I suppose you could run it with hic. You can always use threadless headsets with threaded forks, you'd just have to go threadless to run compression. I assume he either filed down the threads, making the forks "threadless" or yeah, as you stated, he may h ave used a shim.

just run his without sanding it down. the worse that will happen is your hic shim wearing down, but then you can get another.

the shim is meant for threadless stuff so hes saying if you wanna run hic just run the shim cause you cant compress threadless forks with hic. threaded fork compression is that nut that goes above rup headsets. so hic would be pointless to run the actual compression.

don't sand the threads down. just.. install a starnut and run regular hic.
although its pointless as all hell.

you can just get an hic shim and put it over the fork and put the bars on ive seen a couple people do it......it works
