Public schools in NSW and VIC are not terrible at all, Australia is renowned for its public education system. Free laptops for every student sounds pretty good to me. Private schools however, they focus on their rep not their teaching, that's why the top ten schools in NSW are all public schools.

Incorrect dude, I understand sometimes school feels like a bit of a joke but NSW has the best education system in Australia, which has one of the most adequate public education systems in the world. The only region with a better public education system is Scandinavia. If you want to hate on infrastructure in NSW then hate on the public transport system, which is just disgraceful.

To be honest I don't know the entire story, but in new zealand where I used to live, the public-private divide was nowhere near as big, just because you have free laptop doesn't reflect on actual student outcome, to me seems like public schools are a lot worse here, I don't want to derail this thread though, so lets just stop this argument
