Style spelled forward

Wait what's mongo?
I do not know if this is serious, but I will address it anyway. Mongo is pushing with your front foot instead of your back foot.

I forgot to talk about gym shorts as well, silly me. Gym shorts are a no go as well unless you are, well, at the gym. And guys, this thread is made to discuss what helps or hurts style, not the clothes you wear. As I said before, shorts are not always bad.

Gym shorts make you look as if you've been watching tv for the past six months on unemployment and decided to venture out into the real world for another shot at life. This is not a good look.

It's just the way it comes out all pigeon toed that makes it look bad. Skaters go out of their way to push with their opposite foot when riding switch so as not to push mongo, and it is a lot easier pushing opposite footed on a scooter than on a skateboard, so I don't see why scooter riders can't make the change. I know at least a couple who have forced themselves to push normal.

Im mongo but use my other on somethings. but if i need to get some where fast im mongo bc my right leg is my power leg i guess you can call it.

Dreads are pretty chill
But what I don't get is why put so much effort into your hair just so you can make it look like you don't take care of it?

A. it is not much effort (if you have curly hair like me), B. plenty of people blow dry their hair in an effort to make like they just woke up like that, and C. I don't have dreads anyway.

I don't really get the point of addressing clothes, sure its a topic. But who really cares? I know I don't and I'm probably the only one that doesn't. I wear certain clothes because I like to wear them. Not because it makes me look more stylish on a scooter.

Just my opinion.

the trick part doesent agree with me
i think indian givers are really sick if done right, like in the opening line in matt mckeens dts part, sure, if someone frontside 180s a gap then backside half cab out it looks sloppy and lazy, but if someone barspin back 180 halfcab frontside heelpwhiped off on a manny pad it looks sick as hell, and do bowleg turndowns, i can do them both ways but i think bowleg is way more fun and looks a lot better, i ride bowleg, and so does dylan kasson, and i think he has one of, if not the best style in the sport, so bassicaly what im saying is if a trick goes with your style it will work, but a lot of tricks are done out of lazieness and are not well thought out, giving that trick a bad reputation, while if another rider can pull that trick off, it could look really sick

agree with everything steadman said. gym shorts are meant for gym. swimming shorts are meant for swimming.... the clothes you wear are definitely important when it comes to scootering. i find its much more enjoyable to watch a video with 100% style like mckeen or montgomery. those guys know where its at. shit like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DV-PNSuvNjk&feature=related is what our sport needs to look like

But who really cares?
The nearly five hundred people who have viewed this thread, apparently.

Keep in mind that this is an editorial. This means that it is strictly my opinion. Some people agree with me and some do not, but I think that it is hard to argue the fact that scooters as a whole look a little ridiculous, due in part to the amount of young riders whose mothers' dress them.

i push mongo and never heard anyone complain to me. i do it cause im left footed and can push faster with my left foot (im regular) and ride primarily street so i need a fairly strong pushing foot

o yea and bails look worse than they are on sk8 boards compared to scooters imo

I'm bitch footed/handed as hell in everything. I'm a lefty, throw with my right hand, kick with my left foot primarily, can drive stick shift perfectly fine, etc. But I ride a scooter/longboard/skateboard regular stance and push regular. I don't see why it's that hard to not push mongo.

I just push mongo because it makes me get alot more speed and i feel comfortable doing it. From what i heard my style is great(not trying to be cocky) so it really doesnt matter how you push. The point is some people can pull it off some cant.

It doesnt matter which footed you are. I ride goofy and push normal. And im right footed. And when i ride switch i dont push mongo. I think people should just get rid of mongo and learn the right way.
