Super portable?

I found this site through Google and it seems like the largest community of scooter users. Anyway, I'm looking for a scooter more less for commuting purposes as opposed to tricks. I searched first but found nothing. I'm looking for something that can fold up small and so I can stuff it into my bag but I don't want to sacrifice strength. Any ideas?

If you have buttloads of cash a Xootr is great for transport. A Pro Model is your best bet for transport otherwise.

The Xootr looks too bulky, I need something small so I can just throw it in my bag since I'll be carrying it somewhat...

I would also suggest a pro, and if you want some speed, look into getting 110 mm wheels, or skate bearings.

he wants something that will fit in his bag

Yes, just something I can ride from the bus stop to work. With regards to the collapsing handles, are they still attached to the bar or do they come off?

I got myself banned.
Uhh if you take an allen key around with you, you can take the bars off in a couple seconds by loosening up the clamp that holds the bars to the fork and pulling up (like right over the threads so they come off easy, screwing them off takes forever.)

Your best bet for CHEAP-MOBILITY is the Razor 125 and you can probably find that at Wal Mart or KB Toys.

http://www.razorama.com/scooters.html

The first 3 scooters on that page are your best bets and you could probably find them a lot cheaper on amazon.com or in an actual store. Just call around.

Also, the handle bars collapse in 3 different ways:

1) The whole scooter folds in half.
2) The vertical steering column telescopes into itself to make it shorter (or taller).
3) The cross bar on top where your handle grips are - each side comes off independently and there is a thin elastic cord that allows them to hang but not get lost.
