wouldnt the ttube slide down if you put enough pressure on it

if you take off the clamping collar and just put tape the t tube is gonna eventually wiggle out of place. maybe it feels smooth because when you land the t-tube slides a little further down the steertube but the tape stops it from going straight down. so it softens your landing.
