Oh yeah, I forgot about her. I heard about that from Ali. Pretty sick, I hear she shreds.
And yeah, Jesse is coming to SD4.
Josh,
What actually goes on at razor? Like does Ali make a living just from Razor and what exactly does his job entail?
It's been forever since I've seen it, but do things still happen like in that NBS Japan (I think?) video released forever ago?
Ali does a lot. it's not just a team manager position. He goes into Razor a couple days a week and does paperwork for the owner of Razor. But aside from that he plans trips for the team which includes calling the riders to see if they can come for sure, buying airfares, getting hotel rooms for the team, he has a team budget, so he has to keep note of every penny he gives to the team or spends on each trip. On top of which he also tests some of their products. He's kind of a jack of all trades, haha. But for a select few riders, he also has to get them products because this chick at Razor can be kind of flakey on sending out products. Or because she reports to a higher up about sending it and for whatever reason, it gets rejected.
There is a lot. Ali's job was a lot easier when he could be in there every day, and product was always sent, didn't need any approval. Which is something Ali has tried to take care of. He does make money, not a lot, he makes more on trips than anything else.
But where he makes the most money is doing Acoustic Productions. I am his editor, Ricky Wernicke and himself shoot the footage. Hand tapes to me and I edit. We have clients like Razor Scooters, Ripstik Caster Boards, Go Rhino! Truck Accessories, and Big Country Truck Accessories. With a couple others being negotiated right now.
What do you mean about the video? Like team trips for demos? We haven't gone to Japan in a few years. The convention no longer offers the display area needed to set up the ramps.
