This is certainly the most discused vid of the year. Let's see: at first I was a little bit annoyed with the 'we're original, technical difficulty blah blah blah' attitude, I didn't expect this video to be groundbreaking or anything and indeed it wasn't. Even though it was certainly interesting. I never really saw anything of Spencer and Dan and now I liked what Ive seen (Dan's switchbacks, or how they're called, were pretty innovative). As for Nate, I had a slight feeling that Im still watching b footage (and yes, I noticed the switch stuff), tricks like switch finger and switch fakie bartwist were great though. As for Jordan, I was glad to see some tricks never seen before. What made this a really good section was that I had to rewind a few times because I just had no clue about wtf that trick was. I guess it lacked like a biggest ender trick.
I remember how back in the day in like 2003 people didn't really care about landings. Basically, all that mattered was to get two wheels on the ground and not fall and then you considered the trick landed. Videos like NBS4 and those of Andrew Brabank (along with his fight on SR for cleaner landings, another thing is that before Brabank HARDLY ANYONE even AIRED quarterpipes) have brought the change and the principle of cleanliness has become the main rule of scootering. Josh's statement of 'clean = not tech' seems somehow a step back...
My opinion is that sketch should be allowed if there's no way of cleaning up that trick, just because it's something never done before/unique. We've recently seen Josh Kish doing a quint whip flip, second sketchiest trick ever. It was some dude who uploaded it, so you can't complain anyway but if he even put this at the end of a video (especially followed by a clean quadwhip flip) - no one really does quint whips upside down and that's still outstanding. I guess that people also remember when Martin Kimbell released a clean whip frontscooterflip to whip (when a handful of people did even whip frontscooterflips) and followed it with the same thing to double whip out with the sketchiest landing ever. Those trick were unheard of so no one really did care.
