text over clip

sony vegas 9. how do i make workds blend in with an image not like fade in, but have the clip playing with text playing over it at the same time and u can see both

get a text thing and put it on the top layer and the clip on the bottom, if you get my drift, text layer 1, clip layer 2, and make sure you don't get a solid background text.
