I really, really like this peice. So much of it is just spot on and a lot of it applies to me directly. I really feel you on this.

yes, this really brings the scooter community together.. sponsored or not, promoting this sport is a great aspect, no matter what skill. Some people carry a t shirt around and get parts and promote it, others innovate it with ideas and designs, some just in it for the fun of it. Great editorial for sure!

I do agree with what you've said Alex.
Unity is key for productivity and not only that, to establish great working relationships.
A lot of the sport today is twisted and skewed. When it comes down to it.. It's the love of riding and riding with friends that should shine through. The companies involved are doing a function, without that function there would be no sport, and without the riders there would be no companies.

"... people need to stop putting so much emphasis on sponsorship."
This.
Really, your motives behind riding are reflected in your style.

I feel like kids should stop trying to get sponsored and do what we used to do back in the day and make "crews" just friends riding together and putting out videos AND HAVING FUN WHILE RIDING

i could never be sponsored anyway, living so far from any respectable scooter scene, and being busy with school etc.

i just ride for fun.

Couldn't agree more. I could have written a wall of text twice that long about all the frustrations I have with riders and "sponsors" lol. Great post Alex.

If you are gonna start writing editorials, learn how actually write. Like, structure, and getting rid of passive voice is a good place to start.
