I must say that fountain soda tastes much better, mostly due to the liquid not being in prolonged contact with say, a can or a bottle. I can really tell the difference between Sunkist in a bottle and a can and in a can I can for sure taste the metal. Maybe it's just mental but I swear I can.

they also taste better because the soda concentrate is freshly mixed with water seconds/minutes before consumption as opposed to being mixed weeks or months before you buy it. the soda is literally mixed in the cup you drink it from when it comes from a fountain. canned soda is just stale and nasty.
