You haven't seen the Tesla Roadster haven't you?
If I had 109 000$ spare, I'd order one right now...seriously, 3.5 hours charging from 0 to 100%, that's quiet fast for being able to race sport cars (0-60 3.9 seconds, top speed at 120, and that electronic limit, it could go faster...) while doing 0 emissions...that's quiet insane for an electric car...
And 200+ miles with one charge...pretty tight...

not speaking about the fact that you can only drive it in the city, because it can only run for so long before the battery dies, and it takes waay longer to charge up than it does to fill a tank of gas. I've heard of this new battery technology they're working on though, that supposedly recharges almost instantly, so once they perfect that, if they ever do, electric cars will probably be waay more practical than virtually any other kind of automotive technology out there.

which for me means they have to burn that much more coal to power the electric cars...
