Thoughts on 125mm Wheels

Just curious about what everyone thinks about 125 wheels? I personally love the feel of them and how fast they are. Also that you can run longer pegs without scraping. I Bought some Vertx 125 and they didn't last long. I ended up super gluing them every time I rode for the last couple weeks I had them. I could never get ahold of them to get them replaced so I'm kinda pissed about it still. I'm completely broke right now so I'm having to ride 110s with 125 forks so that feels kinda awkward. Hopefully phoenix makes a pair, I think Stan said something about them making some.

Ive been running the root royce king 125s for like 3 or 4 months now and I love them. Theyre so ridiculously fast and smooth, I cant imagine myself ever going back to 110s. The speed makes everything so much easier especially if your going big. Also it feels so sick running huge wheels with long decks and tall bars. The only downside to the roots is that theyre slippery compared to other wheels like protos but thats only really a problem for really smooth parks. I really wish more companies would start making them and forks/decks that fit them.
I also think that now with bars and decks getting so much bigger, wheels need to be bigger too.

Exactly. And those wheels sound sick! I was wanting to get a pair but people said roots were bad. The vertx wheels I had almost felt like plastic and would slide all the time so I think I'll be fine with the roots being a little slick.

I personally really like them but I guess it depends what your looking for in a wheel, ill break it into a pros and cons chart

Pros:
Feel great
Super duper ridiculous fast
Really smooth
Really decent price for what you get (in australia anyway)

Cons:
A bit slippery, nothing major though
A bit harder than most wheels (which imo actually feels better except for drops)
Seem to chunk a bit easier compared to protos
Theyd be a bitch to find in 125 in america and shipping from australia would probs be pretty expensive

Id pretty much recommend them to anyone as long as your not paying too much for like shipping and stuff

i would love a good pair of 125s again. Vertx wheels are complete shit. also, all TSI decks are 110/125 compatible if you're looking for a scooter that fits 125s.

Greg I think he's referring to headtube length, it would need to be 7.5mm further from the ground to make up for the size of the fork. Your deck would be more slanted because the fork is further from the ground.

A deck cannot not be made for 125s and 110, the head tube would have to have different lengths

93 posts, 2013 join date...you're new here, so i wont be mean. yes, they are 110/125 compatible. you dont need a different length headtube. ive ridden 125s on every TSI model, with no need for modification.

i know, but it doesnt make any difference. you can't really feel it on a TSI. the front end is way more 125 friendly than any other deck.

I've ridden the crisp 125 complete and it was really nice. I didn't really loop out more than normal.

fuck dat i could never run 125's they are way to big for me, plus no one makes forks that fit that wheel size i think vertx might be one of the only companies to make them but also tsi has thom forks that run 125's but i wouldn't mess with 125's as of now until they are perfected

maybe get a pair of root industries 125 royce king wheels? you can get em from the american scooter hut now :D also i think scooter hut make their own
