Threaded convert to threadless

well unless you are using scs just put the hic shim over the threads or if you have ics it sucks anyway so just use a threaded nut

You can do it but once you grind the threads all the way off, the fork tube will be too small to fit HIC or SCS without wobble, so you'll have to use ICS and tighten your clap A LOT.

Or you can weld a shim on, which won't be as solid as a threadless fork anyways. It's just a bad idea.

YOU CANNOT MAKE A THREADED FORK THREADLESS without cutting off the threads and welding a same sized tube on.
sanding them off will make the outer diameter too small to be clamped onto/your headset will be loose as hell

also not to mention the fork wall will be as thin as paper and weak as hell.

maybe if you figured out how to fill in the threads with metal somehow, it might work

lets say you have a broken hybrid , the forktube snapped off the fork legs, then can ya weld on a 1 1/8th inch tube on??

yes, if you know how. if it snapped in the middle, you could take a smaller tube, put it through the forktube and weld both pieces of the forktube onto it.

The best way to make a threaded fork threadless is to cut off the forktube, and weld another one in.

If it was a 1 peice fork before then yes. Also its hard to find good material at hardware stores that doesn't bend.
