im just too lazy and cheap to get a new headset, i find nothing wrong with stock headsets and threaded forks though.. some people just have to have their scooters "perfect" though..

Kid I gurantee you can ride a .120 wall threaded fork and you'll never break it.

chris its not a trend, i like aluminum forks (lucky ls v2) because they're lighter than chromo, and you can't thread aluminum.. plus it's just soooooo much more solid and doesnt come loose every 2 seconds like threaded. plus, with threaded you have to screw the compression bolt off for like 5 minutes, with scs you just loosen a few bolts.

i got an inward zero offset with a solid aluminium reinforcement and then the legs started to bend for some reason
