Ok.. Cut the threaded part of the fork tube off right below the threads. Put together the piece that snapped off and the piece that you cut off, measure and see the length. Then buy a piece of tubing (something like 4130) and weld it onto your old fork tube. Now for the compression part of it.. Reinforce the fork with a Ttube from the bottom and make sure theres about 1-2 centimeters of space from the bottom of the Ttube and the welds on the bottom of the plate. Now get a washer for 5/16 bolts, put it in the space below the Ttube, you will most likely have to tap it in with a metal pipe and a hammer.. Now get a small washer that fits on your 1/4' compression bolt but is a bigger diameter then the 5/16' bolt in the washer/"cap". Then just put you bolt through and screw it into your starnut. You may not have to bang your starnut in as far as usual because your bolt in a little closer than it would be on a real threadless SR fork. Just make sure that there is no head of the bolt showing and is it flush with the bottom of the plates.
