Example:

If I had the TSI Tom Cat Fork ( which is threadless ) and I had the Can Creek S3 headset but no Compression just a clamp, would it work, it wouldn't move around or come loose? it'll hold right?

yes it does work but your forks will get turned kinda easily, it works perfect tho

you need some kind of compression. seatpost clamp compression is your best option.

With out a compression System your headset will get loose. Now, if you weight 90 lbs. and can't even tailwhip then you might be ok. But you must understand, Compression Systems put a "pre-load" on the headset which keeps the headset from coming loose. That "pre-load" determines the quality of the spin.
