I have the same exact setup minus the headset, your problem is that the starnut is slipping inside your bars. Seriously. Their chromo one pieces arent they? cuz i have c4s and the bars are too hard for the starnut to dig into.

When tighting the headset witht eh compresson bolt u might have left ur clamp tight u need to have it compleatly loose when ur tightining it then tight it when ur headsets tight

Cosby had the same problem, the starnut was slipping in his bars.
But you may also want to try some lock tite, and a better clamp i had the problem and a better clamp works.

i have a dk clamp, like one of the best clamps there is. and the starnut just slips cuz its chromo bars. aluminum bars dont even get this problem

the inside of ur bars might be too big. try putting ur bars on only a littttle bit on the fork and tightening ur clamp a little before tightening ur compression bolt. then tighten the compression bolt till it comes all the way down, then tightn the hell out of ur clamp. and honestly if the compression bolt comes loose again just take it out and keep the clamp on, i really dont think you need the bolt if your clamp is tight....

Yeah me and my brother had the same problem, we drilled 2 holes on the steer tube of the bars, then weld the star nut in. It works. And if the star nut breaks put another one in and hit it past the welds and when its pulled down it will catch on the welds.

thats actually a pretty good idea. i just hope they were very small holes.

Just tighten your compression until the starnut slips into where the slits are in your bars. then take a flathead screwdriver and try to hit some of the flanges in, or just hit it up out of the way...

haha just so you know, doing that forktube thing is just as useful as ridinig without compression. when yuo tighten the compression down, the forktube comes down aswell.
