Tires, not Wheels

I recently bought a used Razor Scooter off eBay. I intend to use it to travel to and from places, not to do tricks and whatnot.

Because I'll be traveling on pavement and brick, I fear the standard wheels will be too noisy, and was hoping to install wheels with rubber tires, like on a bicycle, to reduce the noise.

I checked the stickied "Wheel Review Thread" but it seemed all the wheels mentioned were the standard kind.

Does anyone have any suggestions for where to find scooter-sized tired wheels?

The reason you see "standard" wheels in the wheel review thread is because those are the strongest kind and this site mainly focuses on the freestyle aspect of riding, however, we can still probably provide you with some answers.

To start what model Razor do you have? Do you care if it folds or not? If you don't mind your scooter not being able to fold there a few things you can do to reduce noise if that is what you are concerned about. Bigger wheels also give you a smoother quieter ride. I do not think you are going to be able to find pneumatic wheels that will fit like you are looking for unless you get a different kind of scooter that can handle a bigger sized wheel.

Ya, I realize that the wheels I'm thinking of would not be at all good for freestyle, but thanks for helping.

The eBay auction calls it an "original Razor scooter", I don't really know any specifics other than that. I do want to keep it able to fold.

Finding tires that fit will likely be the major concern, it doesn't look like the wheel casing thing can handle a much larger wheel.

use 110 mm yaks there smooth but still fast and dont make much noise plus there 10 mm bigger than stock and yes they do fit on origional razor models

your answer is simple, buy a know/grow- ped.

i think just 10 yaks as i cant see it being too bad

but if the floor is prety shitty then you may want to invest in a know/grow ped like 'fashow' said

Pretty much your only option I can see is just getting 110mm wheels then or a different kind of scooter (Know-Ped, Grow-Ped, Diggler, etc.) that have larger rubber tires and/or pneumatic. The only problem with those is they are all bigger than a normal Razor. If you want to stick with Razors and can find an old B model on ebay or want to invest in a Pro Model, either of those will be a lot better for cruising because they have higher ground clearance and a longer wheel base especially with some 110mm wheels.
