im taking my nikon d40 to the skatepark for the first time was wondering what mode to shoot on. auto, manual, sport. its an indoor park aswell so its quite dark and i was also wondering whether its better to shoot with auto focus or manual focus.

im going tomorow and any help will be appreciated. cheers

you're going to need to use your flash first of all if its indoor. itd be better to use an off camera flash, but the built in one works.

i usually shoot on A (aperture) or when i'm being lazy P (programmed auto).

and how you want to focus is just personal preference, figure out what you like best.

Ive never put my camera in any other modes than manual and A.

and like sean said, its really a personal preference on focus mode, if you can focus it fast enough in manual then do that, if not than use auto. You might have to manual focus them, if its too dark that is.
